Clostridioides difficile infection is an inflammatory bowel disease that affects the large intestine. It is also known as pseudomembranous colitis or antibiotic-associated colitis. It occurs due to the overgrowth of bacterium clostridioides difficile.

Naturally many bacteriae are resides in our colon. These are beneficial to the health of the digestive system. Due to the overuse of antibiotics, the growth of these bacteria gets reduced. This causes overgrowth of other unhealthy bacteriae like clostridioides difficile. Its overgrowth cause damage to the colon and finally, the symptoms are manifested.

The patient needs to be seated in a meditative posture with the head and spine erect, and the body relaxed. The patient has to close one nostril (e.g. left nostril if using the right hand and vice versa) with the thumb and exhale completely through the other nostril. Again, he will have to breathe in deeply through the other nostril while the opposite nostril is still closed with the thumb.
