The pathophysiology of chronic renal failure is based on the causative factor. Hypertension causes glomerular and vascular changes. Uncontrolled diabetes leads to diabetic nephropathy. Glomerular injury takes place by inflammatory and non-inflammatory mechanisms. Protein-energy malnutrition occurs due to metabolic acidosis leads to weight loss.
